F. David Lee has long been an enthusiastic student of the Book of Mormon. He served a mission to Korea (1962-1965), where he met his lovely wife, Young Ja Kim. He returned to BYU and earned a B.A. in geography in 1969. In 1980, David received a master’s degree in geography from George Washington University, followed by additional graduate work at the University of Maryland. He served professionally with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, first as a commissioned officer for 10 years, followed by an additional 20 years as a civilian at the Topographic Engineering Center (TEC) in Virginia. David retired from TEC in 2001, and from the U.S. Army Reserve as a lieutenant colonel in 2002. David returned to Utah, where he taught in the BYU Department of Religion for 5 years. Brother and Sister Lee have 4 beautiful daughters and 12 grandchildren. Currently he enjoys working as Curator of the Orem Heritage Museum.
