Book of Mormon Archaeological Forum

Elder Robert E. Wells, Emeritus General Authority of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, received the Father Lehi Award from the Book of Mormon Archaeological Forum on October 20, 2007. Sister Helen Wells received the Mother Sariah Award.

Elder Wells, a Book of Mormon scholar in his own right, has spent much of his long career in business and as a General Authority of the Church, working among and serving the people of Latin America.  In recognition of a lifetime of service to the descendants of Lehi, beginning with his first mission to Argentina, The Book of Mormon Archaeological Forum was pleased to present the 2007 Father Lehi Award to Elder Robert E. Wells.  In addition, the Mother Sariah Award waspresented to his wife, Sister Helen W. Wells.  Both were introduced by their daughter, former Miss America, Sharlene Wells Hawkes.  The presentation occurred at the completion of the 5th Annual Book of Mormon Archaeological Forum Conference which was held in Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday, October 20, 2007.
